On Tuesday, Bexhill Primary Care Network (PCN) held their first training day at Earlsfield Court for care homes across Bexhill with over 40 colleagues from 12 homes attending.

Expert led training was provided by St Michael’s Hospice on end of life care as well as nutrition by the Bexhill PCN dietician, Kim. Attendees took part in a presentation on wound care products as well as discussing plans for a new initiative, supported by Bexhill PCN, to have wound care boxes in care homes.

A local residential home manager said: “I thoroughly enjoyed the day, and gained so much knowledge and information from the experts leading the training. There was enough time for questions and networking too which was brilliant, as was the lunch. I am already looking forward to the next one.”

Hayley and Karen, Care Home Coordinators at Bexhill PCN, organised the event with Paramedic Practitioner Jo. After the event they said: “We would like to thank everyone who attended and supported the event; during the planning and on the day itself. A big thank you to Earlsfield Court for hosting the event and for providing the tasty treats!”

Bexhill PCN is an NHS collaboration bringing together GP practices with other local services including mental health and the voluntary sector to look after our local population.
